ICC Rankings show that Australia continue to lead both the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings and the ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings after the latest annual update released on Friday.
The update applies full weight to matches played since May 2025 and half weight to matches from the previous two years. Australia now hold a 12-point lead over South Africa in the men’s Test rankings and remain 35 points ahead of England in the women’s ODI standings.
In the men’s Test table, Australia and South Africa national cricket team keep their top two spots after gaining three rating points each, reaching 131 and 119 points. England cricket team have slipped to fourth place with 102 points, falling behind India national cricket team on 104. New Zealand national cricket team remain close behind in fifth.
England’s drop follows the removal of past home series wins against New Zealand and South Africa, along with a 3-0 win in Pakistan, all outside the current ranking cycle.
Pakistan national cricket team have moved up to sixth place with 89 points, overtaking Sri Lanka national cricket team on 86. This rise comes after older losses were removed from the calculation period.
Ireland cricket team have dropped out due to not meeting the minimum match requirement. Ireland and Afghanistan national cricket team must each play two more Tests within the next year to regain ranking status.
In the women’s ODI rankings, the top six teams remain unchanged. Australia women’s national cricket team still lead with 163 points despite a small drop. England strengthen their second position with 128 points, increasing the gap over India, who sit at 124.
South Africa women’s national cricket team, New Zealand women’s national cricket team, and Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team hold their positions, while Sri Lanka reduce the gap with New Zealand after gaining six points.
Bangladesh women’s national cricket team move up to seventh place, overtaking Pakistan women’s national cricket team.
Thailand women’s national cricket team and Netherlands women’s national cricket team drop out of the rankings due to insufficient matches. Thailand need one more ODI, while the Netherlands require two to return.
The International Cricket Council will release the updated men’s and women’s T20I rankings on 5 May, followed by the men’s ODI rankings on 7 May.
